Hey, Duke Fan! How Ya Feelin’?

Many Duke fans have never seen an ass-beating against the most hated rival in their lifetimes. I would be willing to wager over 95% of the people reading this weren’t alive for the 35 point inhilation Duke dropped on the Heels in 1964.
That’s right, Beatlemania 1964.
In 2008, Ohio State football fans got to experience a massive blowout versus Michigan and they ended up expressing their feelings as bittersweet. They knew Michigan was having an “off” year, and even though crushing them by 35 was delicious, it wasn’t as good knowing this team was s**tty enough to lose to Toledo earlier in the season.

So JOCKpost wants to know, Duke fan, how ya feelin’? Are you on cloud nine, relishing the greatest blowout you’ve ever witnessed? Or do you feel like you just waxed your 8-year old cousin in a game of 21?

Definitely Cloud Nine! It's like Christmas in March!
We're proud of this team and hungry for some tournament wins. I don't believe this is an off year for UNC either. Next year, expect more of the same. Ol' Roy pulled in a bad batch and Barnes isn't going to be able to turn that around (assuming Barnes doesn't decommit and sign with a team that actually has a chance at winning a title).
Who knows, maybe all those fair weather UNC fans will start to think Ol' Roy isn't good enough for their program? I wouldn't put it past them.
Later!
It don't matter if NC sucks or not!! Last night was AWESOME!!!
hmm national championship to possible NIT birth … I would call that a down year
Last night was awesome. I was there and my throat is still sore. I don't care if you drag the sisters of the poor in those f**king ugly NC uniforms I hate them. I hate everything their team stands for and it was beautiful to watch Coach K toy with them. We could have beat them by 60 last night but we aren't like that. We stay classy and Coach K is and will always be classy.
No one beat us at home this year. Seventeen and zero. I can only hope we get one more shot at them in the ACC tourney because this was too much fun.
That was the most satisfying win for me as a Duke fan!!..watching the game @ a place full of Carolina fans, couldnt have been better!…my only thing is are carolina fans that stupid?…I mean we were up by 30 points give or take the whole time right?…well some dude during the course of the night yelled out "pour it on em boys!" when carolina hit a shot and cut the lead to IDK 35-34?…Down year or not WHATEVER! You dont have hansbrough & lawson I get that! Well we dont have Redick, Battier, & J.Williams either do we?…Im done here, 32 point victory, scoreboard never lies!!LETS GO DUKE!!!
Our situation is different from Ohio State's because UNC is coming off a great deal of success, including four straight wins in our building and a national championship. A 32-point win feels nothing but sweet…
it feels great taken in the context of the last several seasons. i do think it was basically a given that duke would win the game. i'm glad it happened and that the seniors got to exorcise their demons. however, UNC in the dumps is a terrible thing for the ACC. It's not great for Duke in particular, even though Duke hasn't been affected as much as other teams in the conference, whose wins against UNC don't mean much for the tourney chances. The ACC needs Duke and UNC to be the leaders in the league to get respect. Duke and UNC need each other to continue to attract top talent.
I agree that UNC's problems won't be solved next year. Their backcourt will still be untested, at best, and if they lose Davis, their front court will be thin and soft like Henson's favorite nightgown. Meanwhile, Duke has a stable of guys bringing exactly what it needs to improve. Athletic point guard play, more great shooters, big guys who can play hard defense and rebound. Expect Singler to come back with Smith next year as pre-season AA's and to be ranked in the top 3 to start the year. Then expect them to get better and better as the season progresses and Irving learns how college basketball works. UNC….Barnes can't be everything. You need ball handling, defense, and rebounding. Shooting will improve somewhat, but unless Roy can motivate these kids to try harder, it could be another tough year and another huge blemish on Roy's reputation.
Say what you will about Duke being down…but they make the tourney. They play hard and inspired no matter what. Coach K is forthright and realistic about his program. He gets the best out of what he has.
