Dave Bliss – College Basketball’s Biggest Scumbucket Gets Second Chance
Dave Bliss, the former head basketball coach at Baylor University, has been given a second chance.
For those of you that don’t recall, he was the man in charge during the scandal that rocked the school.
It started with the murder of one of his players, Patrick Dennehy, by another player, Carlton Dotson. Bliss’ actions after this tragedy were nothing short of vomit-inducing, if not downright criminal.
Since his vile behavior earned him a 10 year show-cause order, meaning any school wanting to hire him must “show-cause” why it should not be sanctioned, he is basically forbidden from coaching Div.1 basketball again. But don’t worry Dave- like P.T. Barnun said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” And you found yours. Tiny, little Allen Academy in Bryan, TX.
And not only do you get to be the basketball coach, but also the athletic director, and perhaps most shockingly, the dean of students. I know education isn’t a very hot commodity down in Texas, but Jesus H. Christ. The only thing this sleaze is qualified to teach people is how to be a really s**tty human being.
I know what you’re thinking-who the hell cares about a Baylor coach?
If I were a parent sending my kid to this academy, I sure would.
Bliss isn’t just responsible for some recruiting violations, although those are rampant as well. To cover his own slithery ass, he went about telling anyone that would listen that Dennehy covered the gap in his tuition by selling drugs, when in reality it was Bliss that paid the $7,000.
To slander a 21 year old kid to cover your own ass is pretty greasy. When the kid is also a player of yours? Extra-slimy. But to do it to a former player of yours, which was MURDERED by some psychotic f**k who is also a player of yours, well, there will be a special place in hell for you, Bliss.
